Driving a big rig day in and day out comes with its challenges but ensuring your truck's steer axle air ride system is properly managed can make all the difference in your comfort and performance on the road. We offer 3 different variations.
The Basics of Steer Axle Air Ride Managment
Steer axle air ride management plays a vital role in providing a smoother ride by absorbing road shocks and vibrations. By adjusting the air pressure in these springs, drivers can customize the suspension to their liking, enhancing both comfort and control.
3 Different Variations
1. Dual Leveling Valves:
This kit includes 2 Hendrix style leveling valves and rods. Factory Paccar dump switch is provided as well. You supply air to the switch with provided 1/4" DOT airline, another 1/4" dot line leaves the switch and is plumbed to both leveling valves. This will either dump the suspension completely or go to a preset ride height that you set by trimming the linkage rods.
2. 4 Valve Manifold with Viar Dual Needle Gage:
Slam Specialties 2-corner 3/8″ PTC with 1/8″ NPT Gauge Ports 200 PSI
Designed to give the driver full control of ride height on the fly. This kit comes with a particulate trap to go between tank and valve. Helps keep debris out of the valve causing potential issues. Comes with 30ft of 3/8 dot airline and 30ft of 1/4" dot airline. 2 momentary toggle switches that will accept switch extensions. All required fittings included.

Maintenance Tips for Optimal Performance
Regular Inspections: Check for air leaks, worn components, and proper alignment.
Pressure Adjustment: Customize the air pressure in the air springs based on load and road conditions.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
1. Uneven Tire Wear:
Indicates an imbalance in the air ride system; check alignment and adjust pressure accordingly.
2. Rough Ride:
May suggest low air pressure or worn-out components; inspect and adjust as needed.
3. Excessive Bouncing:
Could be due to overinflated air springs; reduce pressure to improve ride quality.
Final Thoughts
As a truck driver, taking care of your steer axle air ride system is not just about comfort—it's about safety and performance on the road. By following these maintenance tips and being proactive in troubleshooting issues, you can ensure your truck is always in top condition, no matter the mileage.
